Jeunes Talents Festival presented to the public 55
of Europe’s up-and-coming classical musicians
many of whom are international competition winners
and graduates of Europe’s most prestigious conservatories.
The concerts took place in the magnificent Soubise
mansion. |

In 22 concerts from July 3-27, 2008 the 8th Annual European
Jeunes Talents Festival presented to the public 55 of Europe’s
up-and-coming classical musicians many of whom are international
competition winners and graduates of Europe’s most prestigious
conservatories. The concerts took place in the magnificent
Soubise mansion.
The European Jeunes Talents
Festival began in 2001. Its mission is to support and introduce
to the world Europe’s new generation of talented classical
musicians. This year, the 8th Annual Festival included musicians
from the conservatories of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Vienna,
Salzburg, Paris, Lyon, Munich, Brussels, Basel ( Switzerland),
Göteborg (Sweden), Baltimore (USA), and Shang’hai.

consists
of the following.
Open
Rehearsals: 12:30-1:30 p.m., day of concert
Free and open to the public, our open rehearsals allow all
to experience the musician at work. For the musically curious
or hesitant, they provide the perfect opportunity to have
a taste of the night’s concert, to discover the joys
of classical music, and to become an active participant in
the music making process.
“Le piano à
Palabres” Pre-Concert Talks: 7-7:30 p.m. day of concert
(free for ticket holders)
Young performer and teacher Stéphanos Thomopoulos will
lead ticket holders through a discussion of the night’s
program. The audience will learn about the night’s music
through a lively and dynamic presentation with musical excerpts.
Concerts:
8 p.m. at the mansion Soubise
Concerts begin promptly at 8:00 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays
during the festival and take place at the Soubise mansion.
On Sundays, concerts at the Soubise mansion begin promptly
at 6:00 p.m. On July 6, 13, and 20, 2008 free concerts will
be held in Paris’ public gardens starting at 4:00 p.m.
and featuring everything from traditional gypsy tunes to a
jazzy saxophone quartet.
The
concerts were about one hour and twenty minutes long and began
on time.
